a/n; i’ve been wanting to write something for these two and now that i did, yay me! this is mostly dialogues so yeah. and it’s gonna be pretty short. please don’t mind the title, i just couldn’t think of one so, yeah.

“I don’t see the point of living when no one really appreciates you,” he speaks through the phone, his voice hoarse.

‘I’m here, I appreciate you’

“I know. But where are you? We’re miles away from each other.”

‘Korea and Japan’s not that far from each other. I mean, I could always fly there to see you’

“Who are you kidding? You barely have money to support yourself. Have you forgotten the reason why you’re there? We both need money and if only you allow me to work then we—“

‘No! When I say you’re not gonna work then you’re not! And that’s final. Don’t even try to think about doing it secretly. I’m already working for us. I have to prove your parents that I’m worthy to be with you.’

“But you didn’t have to work there. There are lots of jobs available here in Japan, you didn’t need to go all the way there. And besides, I don’t think they would even care if we’re homeless or not.”

‘They pay me big here. Plus, Korea is my homeland. I have a family too, you know. And I don’t care if they don’t give a damn; I just have to prove something. They have to know that their son’s in good hands.’

“Changmin, just forget it. You were almost disowned by your family because of me; you don’t have to go through all of this just because you want to prove something to my parents.”

‘Do you love me?’

He is stunned by the sudden question, but still answers. “Of course, why ask?”

‘Good, that’s all I wanted to know.’

He glances at the wall clock and sighs. “Alright, I’m holding you up for too long. I’ll hang up now. I love you.”

‘I love you too, babe.’

He, Junnosuke, isn’t exactly depressed; he is just lonely. Six months of being alone and away from his lover has taken its toll on him. He isn’t really the type to go emo but there are moments when he needs to just keep quiet and think about things. Things such as their future. Being a homosexual couple isn’t easy. Discriminations here and there that reaches to an extent that some treat them as criminals.

Most of the time, he feels like he’s in a drama wherein he’s the female protagonist who falls in love with a rich guy and soon gets together with him but encounters endless of problems when both their families get in the way of their relationship.

He’s tired of people bashing them just because they’re a member of the third sex. It might be immoral to some but they’re not criminals for fuck’s sake! They’re just normal people who fell deeply in love with the same sex. End of story, period.

Looking around their shabby shared apartment, tears well up in his eyes. Both of them were somehow shunned by their own families upon finding out their relationship. Junno’s family strictly follows their tradition and thus, Japanese people are only for Japanese. Changmin, unfortunately, is a Korean which made it harder for them to make them approve of their relationship.

Knowing that their efforts would just go to waste, they eventually gave up. They don’t need their family’s approval, just as long as they have each other that’s what matters. Using whatever they have, they moved out of their own houses and lived together. Basically, life has been hard for him and Changmin. What have they even done to deserve such treatment?

Staring at the ceiling of their shared bedroom, he closes his eyes, forcing himself to sleep. He likes sleeping more than anything else because when he sleeps, he temporarily forgets everything around him.

He wakes up feeling the familiar warmth. His eyes shot open and there he sees a grinning Changmin. “Hello there, sleepy head!”

“What the hell are you doing here?” he asks.

“Ouch, that hurt. And here I thought you’re gonna be happy to see me.”

“What are you doing here?” he asks once again.

“I’m here to pick you up.” Changmin answers, earning a confused look from him. “I told you they pay me big. Six months was enough for me to save up enough money for us. Well, I still have to work but the money I have at the moment is enough for us to buy a new house, things and car perhaps? And I’m getting you out of here.”

“You’re not lying, aren’t you?”

Changmin looks at him with a very serious face. “Do I look like I’m lying?” he pulls a still shocked Junno and kisses him atop his head. “I’m taking you to Korea and we’ll have a better life there, I promise.”

“How about your family?”

“Let’s just let them have their time to contemplate about things and I’m pretty sure they’ll accept us sooner or later. They have to, I’m their only son.”

Junno pulls away from the hug and raises his eyebrows at the taller male. “How did you get here?”

“Uhh..by plane?” He was about to hit Changmin on the arm when he grabs his hand and gently kisses it. “Let’s not talk about hows, whys, whens or whatever. What’s important is that I’m here, with you and we’re gonna start a new life. A life where no one’s gonna look down on us or make fun of us. A life where there is just only you and me.”

Junno looks deeply in Changmin’s eyes and plants a soft yet sweet kiss on his lips. He knew right then and there that he chose the right man.
