It’s funny how people would say that they’re uncomfortable with each other, how their height difference is too much that it’s weird seeing them stand side-by-side.
It’s funny how people think that being friends is the last thing they will ever be, when in fact, unknown to all, they are the closest in the group.
It’s funny how Kyuhyun is in the middle of this whole thing when he shouldn’t be; he is more than happy with a certain someone named Changmin. Evil and snarky magnaes should be together.
Kyuhyun and Sungmin had become a package deal for obvious reasons. They do fanservices but they don’t overdo it, they hang out a lot, they drink wine together, they share secrets, and they share rooms. But that’s just it. KyuMin solely exists inside the depths of every loyal shipper’s fantasies, and it will remain that way.
That goes for QMi too. Kyuhyun and Zhou Mi, it’s just not gonna work out for them. Their closeness is undeniable but Zhou Mi just couldn’t see himself kissing Kyuhyun. It grosses him out.
It’s funny how no one in the group was suspicious of their relationship when they are always all over each other. “Oh, no, we know you two are dating.” says Heechul when Sungmin tries to confront him one day. They tried to be as obvious as possible but it’s either the others are dense or they’re purposely ignoring the nonsense fluff they’ve been displaying for the past..uhh..two months.
Well that was rude, Sungmin thinks. If they knew it all along, they should at least have the decency to congratulate them or whatever. But no, they had to be so nice, ignoring them, making them look like idiots who needed attention (which was partly true ‘cause they were showing off to make them notice them, but that is besides the point).
“And you didn’t tell us because?” the offended bunny—man puts his hands on his waist, demanding an explanation.
“Well,” the self-proclaimed Cinderella inspects his nails for dirt or something unnecessary and crosses his legs like a boss. “Do we have to?”
“That I would like to know.”
“Hmm..let’s see. No.”
“Hyung!”
Heechul rolls his eyes at him. “Lee Sungmin, I’m Kim Heechul, your whines are useless. Now, let’s not waste my time with this nonsense, I have better things to do.” and so the princess leaves just like that.
He knew talking to Heechul was the worst option, but he had no choice. Leeteuk is out of the list since he doesn’t plan on talking about the issue for a long time and Yesung, he’s a total blur, yeah that’s pretty much why.
“I heard Heechul hyung told you off.” his lover tells him.
“That is so not true! Who told you that?”
“Kui Xian. I told you, you shouldn’t have said anything about it. It doesn’t matter whether or not they know about us." Zhou Mi pulls his sulking lover in a comforting hug and kisses him full on the lips. "Congratulations!"
Sungmin pulls away from Zhou Mi's grip and looks at him in confusion. "What for?"
"What what? You want someone to congratulate you, right? I will, for them." Zhou Mi receives a light smack on the arm, which hurt a bit and he had to scream mentally at that. No matter how cute and adorable Sungmin is, a martial artist's hand is really something.
Now that everyone (everyone meant Heechul) knows about them, they could make their relationship official so the ever-so-giddy Sungmin gathers everyone in the living room. Zhou Mi, on the other hand, is utterly shocked. He knows whatever Sungmin said last night about having a meeting with everyone is clearly a joke, he doesn't know he was serious about it. "What have I gotten myself into?"
"Trouble dude, trouble." he jumps in surprise and sees Heechul smirking at him. The older man chuckles, gives him a wink, "Hoot hoot hoot!" and walks away to claim a spot on the couch.
Apparently, no one shows a reaction Sungmin wants, they are all nodding like crazy and they aren't supposed to do that. Well, Sungmin is overreacting and making a big deal out of this.
Eunhyuk claps his hands. "Congratulations. There, I said it. Happy now? May Donghae and I be excused? Yeah? Yeah, okay bye!" the once again offended martial artist stares at Eunhyuk and Donghae's retreating back and sighs.
"Oh forget it." he looks at everyone who stares back at him. "Just..just do your things guys, forget that I even called you here for a stupid meeting." he turns on his heel and walks away, out the door.
Zhou Mi, of course, panics and immediately follows his lover. He catches up with Sungmin on the staircase and holds his hand tight but remains quiet. He drags him to the park, where they sit on a bench, observing the passersby and breathing in fresh air.
"I'll be honest." the Chinese man speaks after a while, Sungmin's head on his shoulder. "I don't get why you're so upset." being known as Mr. Sunshine, a smile is decorating his lips all the time. "I mean, they know, they're happy, isn't that enough? When Yesung hyung and Ryeowook got together, did you do anything to congratulate them?"
"Well, no."
"Exactly my point. Sungmin, get over it. It's not a big deal. You're getting upset over something..something so small and unimportant."
Sungmin's body shakes and Zhou Mi thinks he's laughing or something, but then he finds out he's wrong when Sungmin buries his face on the crook of his neck, crying. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I get upset easily over small things. It's stupid! I'm stupid."
Zhou Mi shakes his head, rubbing circles around Sungmin's back comfortingly. "Don't say that. You're not stupid, you're just..a little more emotional than some other people. Trust me, honey, you're far from being an idiot. And most importantly, I love you."
And Sungmin feels so much better.
It's funny how Zhou Mi's words can make Sungmin feel better and how his touches can calm the boy down.
And..
It's funny how the other members are disgusted by them being overly cheesy and they don't give a damn about it because they love each other too much to keep their hands to themselves.
