you remind me
title: you remind me
pairing: yunho/jaejoong
genre: romance , drama
rating: pg13
length: oneshot
summary: jaejoong reminds yunho of someone he never wanted to see.
“Dude, what’s wrong with you?”
“Yoochun, you know I can’t!”
“The guy loves you and you love him back! I don’t see any reason why you’re stopping yourself from telling him how you feel. Just because he reminds you of Casey doesn’t mean that he’ll do the same thing. Heck, they’re not even the same person” Yoochun kept on scolding the stubborn man.
“Who knows?” he shrugged. “I’m just being reasonable,”
“Reasonable my ass! That’s the most unreasonable thing I’ve ever heard. Jaejoong is brave enough to tell you how he feels. Couldn’t you do the same thing? Why not give it a try?”
“So what? So that I could get played with again? I don’t want to take the risk, Yoochun. I don’t want to get hurt again”
“You’re a coward, Yunho. What you want is clearly impossible! You can’t not get hurt when you’re in a relationship”
“I know that, but still...”
“Whatever Yunho. Just don’t come running to me when Jaejoong finds someone else”
Truth be told, Yunho desperately wants to be with Jaejoong but he can’t, he just can’t. You see, there’s this one guy who goes by the name of Casey Kim, his ex-boyfriend to be exact. Yunho got fooled and cheated on. Apparently, Casey goes around sleeping with any guy he gets attracted to. Then there came a point when Casey couldn’t take all the guilt and got on his knees as he told Yunho everything.
Of course Yunho was furious about it, and since he loves the guy, he forgave him but he eventually broke up with him. Since then, Yunho was afraid to love someone. Just when he promised himself to not fall in love again, along came Jaejoong. Jaejoong’s appearance in his life is unexpected. They were high school classmates, not friends or anything closer than that so after graduation, they never got the chance to see each other again.

Yunho is a bookworm. He spends most of his time reading a book or just anything that can be read. The public library is his sanctuary. Whenever he gets a day off from work, he spends his time in the library just to read anything that catches his attention. He usually finishes a book in one sitting, but time wasn’t on his side as it was almost the library’s closing time and he still hasn’t finished the book so borrowing it would be the best option at the moment.
“Uhm, excuse m, I would like to borrow this book.” he said, handing the said object to the librarian who gave him a note that he needed to fill up. As soon as he was done, he handed it back and gave the librarian a confused look. “Do you mind if I ask why you’re staring at me?”
“Jung Yunho?”
“Yes?”
“No! I mean, yes you’re Jung Yunho, my classmate way back in high school.” His confused expression was immediately replaced by an even more confused one, trying to figure out who this person is. “I’m sure you don’t remember me. We don’t really talk. I’m Kim Jaejoong by the way.”
The second he announced “Oh yes, Jaejoong. I remember you.” That’s pretty much when it all started. Yunho found himself visiting the library more than usual just to hang out with his newfound friend and eventually, feelings developed. For both parties, that is.

"Yoochun told me." he was startled when Jaejoong cornered him one afternoon. "You love me, don't you?" his aggressiveness is scaring the hell out of Yunho. "But you're a coward."
He winced in pain as Jaejoong started to hit his chest with his fist. "Stop it, Jaejoong. You don't know anything." he gritted his teeth, trying to step back a little more but failed when his back met the stupid wall. "Just leave me alone."
"No, no. That's not it Yunho!" Jaejoong might seem desperate but that’s because he wanted to squeeze everything out of Yunho. He's been very patient but his emotions are getting the best of him. He knew, he felt and he's positive that Yunho feels the same way as he does. "You're scared."
"Jaejoong.."
"And too stubborn to admit that you love me."
"I'm warning you, Jaejoong. Stop it..."
"Because the last time you gave your heart to someone.."
"I said, stop it!"
"He broke it." those words came out like a whisper, Jaejoong’s hands fell limply on his sides and his cold and angry eyes softened. "I'm sorry."
Yunho stared hard at him before walking away. No, he's not mad at Jaejoong. He's mad at himself for not having the guts to move on.
He regrets walking away. He regrets talking back to Jaejoong. He regrets not telling him how he feels.
"I'm such a pussy." he told himself, chuckling bitterly.

A month has passed when he last saw and talked to Jaejoong. During that one month, he contemplated and realized things. As much as he hates to admit it, both his best friend and the person he loves were right. If only he wasn't so stubborn then he would be probably out on a date with Jaejoong rather than being locked up in his bedroom.
He wasted so much time.
He's a complete mess. His unshaved facial hair and disheveled hair made him look like he hasn't bathed for who knows how long, which is partly true since he hasn't really taken a bath for three days. Nasty. Aside from his hygiene issues, he has been abusing his brain to think of ways on how to get Jaejoong back but it seems as if he can't think of anything so he opted for the last resort.
Barge in Jaejoong's apartment and whatever happens happens.
His new found confidence after his hibernation helped him a lot and he's pretty sure that this time, he won't chicken out. "Fighting!" he gave himself a cheer before making his way to Jaejoong's apartment, not before taking a bath of course.
a/n: i honestly think this is better than the first version (which i already posted ages ago but deleted) so here, posted it up again :) so how's it?
