a/n; inspired by a short story I read years ago. Idk if someone had written something like this already but I hope no one has.

Sunlight hit his face and he groaned. He slowly opened his eyes and scanned his surroundings, smiling. It’s a beautiful day. Just like his usual weekday mornings, he got up and prepared himself for school. Walking downstairs, he could feel the aroma coming from the kitchen.
I wonder what Heechul hyung is cooking, he thought.
“Good morning hyung!” was his cheerful greeting to his older brother. But to his surprise, there was no response and Heechul even slammed the plate on the table, not even looking at him. He shrugged and proceeded eating his breakfast. A grumpy Heechul in the morning isn’t really new for him so no worries.
The rest of his breakfast was spent in silence. All he could hear was Heechul’s heavy breathing. Why does Heechul look so depressed? He wanted to know. But of course, he kept his mouth shut. Talking to a pissed or depressed Heechul is never a good thing to do.
He silently thanked him for the breakfast and made his way to school.
A wide smile appeared on his face as he spotted his lover on his usual spot. Before he could even approach him, the teacher entered the class. Wrong timing is wrong timing. He sighed and just plopped down his desk, two rows in front of his lover. Everything was going smoothly as it has always been but he couldn’t help but feel weird. Why does everyone seem so down? Even the teacher.
It was making him uncomfortable. There he is, all giddy and happy while the others looked sad, too sad in fact. What is happening? He figured that maybe something happened so he just let it go. He then noticed his lover acting strange; he kept staring at his cell phone as if he was looking at something very important. He scrunched up his face and observed his lover intently. What could be wrong?
When the bell rang signaling that it was lunch time, he stood up and approached his boyfriend. “Yoochun ah!” he greeted him with a kiss on the cheek and Yoochun usually responds with a kiss and a hug. He waited for it but nothing came. Yoochun didn’t even take notice of his presence.
He must be having a problem, he thought.
He raised his hand to put it on Yoochun’s shoulder only to put it down again when Yoochun suddenly stood up. “Why is he ignoring to me?” he asked himself and followed Yoochun after a while.
Yoochun walked on the hallway like a zombie and he couldn’t do anything about it. He didn’t want to get close to him as he thought that Yoochun might want to have an alone time. He’s not that inconsiderate. He discreetly followed him until he was out of the school premises.
“Where on earth is he going?”
Then to his surprise, Yoochun started running. Yoochun is a fast runner and he usually never catches up with him, but he tried anyways just so he would know where he is going and what his problem is. He knows he looks like a stalker at the moment but he could care less. He almost lost sight of him but he managed to fasten his pace although he was out of breath.
His pace slowed down until he completely stopped upon arriving at Yoochun’s destination, the cemetery. He stood behind a tree and watched Yoochun as he knelt down a grave and cried a river. Yoochun never cries like that so he wanted to know who he was visiting. He doesn’t want seeing Yoochun cry over something or someone so he decided to comfort him although he’s quite scared that he might push him away. But that doesn’t matter.
Slowly, he took baby steps towards Yoochun. The closer he gets the louder Yoochun’s cry gets. He wanted to hug him so bad and tell him that everything will be alright. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry..” he could hear Yoochun say along with his sobs.
His baby steps then turned into big ones. He stood behind Yoochun, ready to hug him. His arms fell limply to his sides as he noticed the writings on the grave.

December 15, 1989 – September 12, 2010
Tears unconsciously rolled down his eyes. It was him, it was really him. But how? Why?
No wonder everyone was ignoring him. No, he doesn’t want this. He doesn’t want to die. He has lots of things to do, with Yoochun. He still has to marry him, raise a family, and be with him until they grow old. He still has to take care of his brother. He promised that he’ll take him to Paris once he graduates; he still has to do that. He can’t die. No! He just can’t!
He found himself kneeling on the ground beside Yoochun, tears uncontrollably strolling down his face. Just then, a flashback happened.
“I told you, she was just a friend!”
“Yeah, she is. No wonder she keeps on clinging onto you.” He crossed his arms, still angry at Yoochun (angry of jealousy). They were eating in a restaurant when a girl approached them and started flirting with Yoochun as if he was invisible. It was okay with him at first but the girl got too annoying so he walked out before he could even beat the daylights out of her. Of course Yoochun followed him and dragged him in his car, wanting to explain.
Yoochun wasn’t at fault but he was too jealous to notice that fact. “Chun, I’m tired. Just take me home.”
“God damn it Junsu! Listen to me when I’m explaining!” Yoochun burst out in anger, his hold on the steering wheel tightening every second.
“Just shut up okay! I wanna go home!” he shouted equally loud as Yoochun’s.
Yoochun’s vision darkened. Never in their years of relationship has Junsu talked to him like that and it was making him furious as hell. He glared at Junsu hard, not noticing a vehicle coming their way.
“Yoochun! Watch out!” were Junsu’s last words and the last thing they heard was screeching of tires and people screaming.
Everything made sense now. But he still couldn’t take the fact that he won’t be able to be with Yoochun anymore.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry Su. It was all my fault.” He heard Yoochun say, still sobbing. “I miss you..”
He smiled. It wasn’t Yoochun’s fault. He overreacted and that was the main reason why it all happened. No one wanted it to happen anyway. It was fate. And yes, fate could be a bitch at times.
Although he knows that Yoochun won’t feel it, he still hugged him. “I miss you too, Chun.” He whispered in his ear, hoping that Yoochun would somehow hear it.
Yoochun stopped moving, his head shot up. He removed his arms that were dangling in Yoochun’s neck. “Su, is that you? Please talk to me. Please I want to see you. Babe, where are you? Please talk to me!” Yoochun almost pleaded and his heart broke seeing Yoochun like that. “Su..”
“I’m sorry Chun but I can’t show myself no matter how much I want to.”
“I know you’re here! Su, please baby! I’m sorry, it was my fault. I should’ve died instead of you. Please..babe..” he then desperately took out a lighter from his pocket and lighted the candle on the grave. “Su, I know you’re here. If you can hear me, please blow out the candle. I know you’re here, Su. If you still love me, you’ll do it. I love you Su, I love you very much.”
He cried, it breaks his heart seeing him so desperate and miserable. Without hesitation whatsoever, he blew out the candle. He saw Yoochun’s surprised face and couldn’t help but chuckle. How can Yoochun manage to be cute at a time like this?
“I love you too, Chun. Forever.”
Even if he couldn’t be with him physically, he’ll always be there guiding and taking care of him. Yoochun might find another one to love but he won’t get in their way. He’s happy as long as Yoochun is.

mostly because the strange feeling was nagging me when i realized that both heechul and yoochun were ignoring junsu, not taking notice of his presence at all.
agh, my heart hurts for yoosu here. how painfully tragic to have junsu leaving yoochun, even worst, it's even sadder for junsu to realize he's dead only after seeing his own grave ;--;
thank you for sharing this
