rising gays of the east {two}

It’s in Junsu’s nature not to get pissed of easily so when it is raining hard and it so happens that he forgot his umbrella at home, he laughs it off and figures he’ll have to get soaked in the rain. It sounds fun and he likes it. He grips on his backpack tighter as he makes a run outside the school building. He could feel droplets of rain soak him wet and is someone calling is name? He abruptly stops and turns around to see Yoochun running towards him holding an umbrella. “Why are you so stupid?” asks an irritated Yoochun as he shields Junsu from the rain with his pink umbrella. Junsu steps out of it.
“Yoochun, I’m already wet. I don’t need an umbrella.”
“You do, now step in!” When Junsu doesn’t listen to him, he grabs him by the wrist and pulls him in the shade. “You are one stubborn man Kim Junsu.”
They are neighbors. Well, Junsu’s house is at least four houses away from Yoochun’s. They don’t go home together though. Yoochun secretly walks Heechul home everyday so he doesn’t really get to spend time with Junsu thus, the awkwardness.
“Changmin is quite cranky.” blurts out Junsu unintelligibly. He was in an awkward mess and he hates it. What was he supposed to say? “Well, he always is but he’s specially cranky these days.” he continues with a mumble. “Why am I even telling you this?”
Yoochun chuckles, putting an arm over Junsu’s shoulder to pull him closer reasoning out that he might get wet. Junsu leans in to Yoochun’s warmth and the awkward environment was slowly starting to get comfortable. “…because you’re Junsu. You say random things at random times.” Junsu silently agrees.
“Hey, I’ve been meaning to ask, since when were you tight with Heechul hyung? I’m not being nosy or anything, just curious.” Yoochun feels his body stiffen. This is something sensitive and he really doesn’t want to talk about it. But of course, he can’t tell Junsu off, the guy knows nothing.
“Well, we’re really not as tight as you claim us to be. He…he just asked me for help once and we just kind of clicked. We’re okay.”
“Hmm…okay. So…” Junsu trails off, his vision landing on the familiar house he passes by everyday. He’s got a thing for that particular house and he’s determined to live there someday. Someday…hopefully with his someone special, hopefully. “…so how do you feel about Changmin and Yoohwan’s relationship?” Yoochun smiles softly in reply, telling Junsu how happy he is for the couple. He knows his little brother has been crushing on his friend for who knows how long. He’s happy to know that Changmin reciprocates Yoohwan’s feelings. Or at least it’s what he thinks.
“How about you then?” the raven-haired pianist finds himself asking. “When are you…you know…going to be in a relationship?”
Junsu shrugs, completely not sure of his answer. “I have no idea. I’m just not thinking about stuff like that right now. Well, I do have crushes and all but I don’t know.” He nudges Yoochun on the stomach lightly. “You’re the one to talk. I’ve never seen you with anyone.”
If anything, Yoochun hates having to lie to anyone, particularly his friends. They’re too precious to him but this was the only thing he’s hiding from them. “I’m doing good.” he answers, wrapping up the conversation.

Park Yoochun is guilty, very much guilty. He knows he should’ve said something, something like the truth. But no matter how much he tries to, he couldn’t make himself do it. Two years is a pretty long time and if anyone from his circle of friends finds out about his most-treasured secret relationship with Jaejoong’s older brother, he’s pretty much in trouble. Not just him, Heechul is, too.
He sees Changmin in their living room cuddling up with Yoohwan. He gives a small nod of acknowledgement to Changmin who also nods in return. “Where have you been?” Yoohwan asks, melting in Changmin’s arms as the taller man hugs him. Yoohwan notes that Yoochun is half an hour late than the usual time he comes home. “Did Hee—“
“I’m going upstairs. Don’t enjoy yourselves too much.” he says with much haste even before his brother blurts out the truth. He is in a fight with Heechul, the reason why he’s able to have a moment with Junsu. Yoochun knows Heechul is a very touchy person but he notices that it’s getting too much with a certain classmate. He often sees them enjoying each other’s company too much and of course, his jealous-self kicks in and he ignores his boyfriend.
Changmin stares at Yoochun’s retreating figure and wonders what’s up with him.
“I bet he had a fight with Heechul hyung.”
“What?”
“My brother, he rarely fights with Heechul hyung. But when they do, man it’s so scary.”
Changmin therefore concludes that Yoochun is indeed dating Kim Heechul. And he should thank Yoohwan’s tactlessness for that. Yoochun is gay.

Park Yoochun is actually gay. Now, if there’s anything Changmin regrets, it’s not being able to confess. He isn’t very much of a coward when it comes to this but somehow, just the thought of having to admit his feelings for the older one scares him, Rejection is what he’s really scared of though. Rejection hurts and he doesn’t want to get hurt.
He wants to know the reason why Yoochun is hiding this from them. They’re not gonna judge him for his sexual orientation that’s for sure. Changmin’s a gay guy himself and now that he and Jaejoong have come out of the closet, Yoochun has nothing to worry about. The fact that Yoochun is in love with someone else still hurts Changmin.
“What’s up, boyfriend?”
Still not used to having an actual boyfriend, Changmin almost freezes in his spot but regains his composure even before Yoohwan notices anything. “Hmm…?”
“You seem to be zoning out. Is something the matter?”
“I’m okay, don’t worry.”
“As I was asking, can we go on a date Friday night? Pretty please?” Quite frankly, Yoohwan is not as cute as Yoochun so his aegyo doesn’t really work on Changmin but Changmin agrees for the effort and besides, they’re dating now, it would hurt Yoohwan if he rejects his request.

Although not sure if his baby brother was being tactless, as usual, that really didn’t bother him. What’s important at the moment is Heechul. He really didn’t mean to snap at him and tell him to fuck off. It was a spur of the moment thing and Heechul should know Yoochun tends to say things he doesn’t mean when he’s angry. But Heechul should also know when enough is enough.
He was about to call Heechul when he hears a loud thud outside his room and when he races downstairs to the living room, he sees the lovebirds in a very awkward position. “Yoochun hyung! This isn’t what it looks like!” Changmin defends himself, trying to push the man on top of him away.
“Don’t be shy, Changmin ah. This is exactly what it looks like, hyung.”
Yoochun chuckles, shaking his head and heads back his room.

When Junsu told Yoochun about crushing on someone, it wasn’t completely a lie. He did like someone. He did. It’s not like he doesn’t believe in love, he’s just not ready for it yet. He wants to love and experience the joy of it but the thing is, he has no idea when’s the right time to fall in love.
The more he thinks of it, the more he realizes that being on a solo flight is quite lonely. Not that he minds but maybe…maybe it’s about time he looks for someone whom he can hangout with any time of any day. Changmin has Yoohwan so he figured he should stop being a little bit clingy to the taller lad.
His lovelife may be non-existent as of now but that doesn’t mean there aren’t people who fancy him. In fact, there’s this guy who has been trying to woo him since the start of the schoolyear and maybe…maybe that’s the answer to his problem.
But come to think of it, why a guy? Did Jaejoong’s confession turn him gay, too?
